What the working does
Within the term, the petitioner comes into a small sum they did not expect and were not owed: a note in a coat, an unclaimed refund, a debt repaid late by someone embarrassed to have forgotten it.
The cap is not a commercial limitation and would not be lifted at any fee. Workings of fortune scale poorly. Above approximately this figure the sum is drawn from somewhere, and in our records the somewhere is most often the petitioner, later, with interest.
Forty dollars is the sum fortune surrenders without consequence. This practice does not pursue the remainder and declines commissions that ask it to.
Brought by the petitioner
A garment with pockets that have not been turned out this year. The last thing the petitioner bought and did not need. A sum of money the petitioner once lost and no longer thinks about.
Limits & refusals
Once per petitioner per calendar year, without exception. Cannot be assigned, gifted, stacked, or directed at a named source. Uncapped variants are not offered.
