What the working does
The working does not compel affection, produce attraction, or act upon another person in any respect. Workings directed at a person who has not asked for one are refused by this practice without exception.
What the working governs is the petitioner. For six hours, the interval before speech lengthens slightly. Recollection under pressure improves. An account given aloud arrives in the order it was arranged in.
The petitioner is not altered. The petitioner is composed.
Brought by the petitioner
An item of clothing in which the petitioner has been complimented. A written account, in the petitioner’s hand, of a conversation they left thinking about. Nothing belonging to any other party — such items are returned and the commission declined.
Limits & refusals
Six hours from casting, fixed. Does not extend, stack or transfer. Not cast twice within the same fortnight.
Term & afterwards
The working lapses at hour six without taper. Petitioners are advised of this at consultation and asked to confirm that they understand it.
