What the working does
The working is cast upon a property line, not upon an animal. The animal barks as often as it did, at the same hours and the same provocations, and is unaffected by the working in every respect.
What is altered is carriage of sound across one specified boundary between the hours of ten and six. Our practitioners describe the mechanism as a narrow and temporary deafness applied to a fence.
Petitioners whose account suggests the animal is being mistreated are referred elsewhere and the commission is not taken.
Brought by the petitioner
The boundary between the two properties, described in the petitioner’s own words. A night on which the petitioner did not sleep, and its date. Nothing belonging to the animal or to its owner.
Limits & refusals
One boundary per casting. Does not extend to shared halls, gardens, or open windows facing a third property. Hours of effect are fixed at 22:00 to 06:00 and are not adjustable.
Term & afterwards
Approximately fifteen per cent of petitioners request early reversal, most within a fortnight. Reversal is immediate and carries no further fee.
